It has always been the mission of ABWA to give women opportunities to grow personally as well as professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition. Making certain women continue to move forward, understand new technology, embrace new concepts, and improve their leader skills—these are the goals of ABWA. Goals that are far more feasible now with the addition of the Women’s Instructional Network (WIN). ABWA was the first Association to deliver such a comprehensive learning and communication platform to its members in 2009 and we continue to expand our reach through WIN in 2010.

What our members are saying about WIN and the newest learning modules, "Resumes That Get Interviews" and "Interviews That Get Offers":

"I just completed the three interview modules and thought they were fantastic. I have done a lot of interviewing but these modules gave me a fresh perspective, useful tips, and started me really thinking about how I position myself when talking to upper management about my skills...they are in fact ad-hoc interviewin"

"WOW! Just finished the APEX Personal Marketing tutorials 1, 2, & 3. The timing couldn’t have been better for me since I just lost my job. I feel confident I am ready to get out there and find my next endeavor! THANKS ABWA!!"

Cindy Mims

"I completed the interviewing tutorial and from a frequent interviewer's perspective it was superb. Everyone in ABWA should take this module even if you are not looking for a job. The sample questions posed were thought-provoking and will give you insight into yourself. I interview dozens of candidates each year and I took copious notes on this module because it will help me become a better interviewer as well as a potential interviewee. Great job ABWA!"

Lee Ann Matsuda

"I just completed the resume development classes in WIN and loved them! I had completed my resume earlier in the day and was satisfied with my outcome, but the courses gave me even more great ideas to enhance its look. Thank you!"

"I have to admit that I was dragging my feet on the Personal Marketing courses. … Interviewing is one of my weaker skills as a business owner, and a part of my job that I hate. So I thought starting there might give me some insight, especially if we’re awarded a project that we’ve made the “short list” for and I need to hire more staff for the office and warehouse. … While still not looking forward to the ordeal, I am now armed with tools that I can use, implement, and believe that I can ask better questions based upon what the modules were telling prospective employees what to expect. The fact that there were USEFUL TOOLS and INFORMATION where I was not expecting to find it shows ONCE AGAIN how ABWA has come through for me yet AGAIN!"

"I really enjoyed all of the courses, and I got a lot out of them. The ‘teaming’ courses were really great to use for work as well as ABWA. I found that when I started the teaming sessions, it was just logical to go to the next one and keep going until they were complete. It was like a snowball rolling down a hill; the more I did the more I wanted to continue. I will use the material in our ‘lunch and learn’ sessions at work. The personal marketing sessions were a catalyst to force me to look at my own inventory of skills and abilities. While I’m not looking for a job at the moment, you never know when fate will step in and change that. The interviewing sessions provided a lot of information that I, as an interviewer, could apply to improve my own interviewing skills. A great big THANKS to all who contributed to bringing these sessions to us. More courses to come?"
